HSEM 357 Risk Communication (5 credits)
Prerequisite Current enrollment in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Homeland Security Emergency Management program.
Course Description This course is designed to expose students to the process of risk communication as it relates to Homeland Security Emergency Management. Various theoretical approaches to risk communication will be examined, with students learning the practical application of each. Stakeholder identification and engagement will be emphasized, along with techniques to analyze risk communication efforts.

Recognize how to access and disseminate information through multiple agencies in order to assess and forecast the risks, types, and orders of magnitude of terrorist threats most likely to impact organizations.
