CJ& 240 Introduction to Forensic Science (5 credits)
Formerly CJ 205
Course Description Analysis of the history of crime scene investigations, practical use of technical equipment and scientific methods to assist in crime detection. Includes fingerprint identification, fingerprinting, casting, sketching, and crime scene photography. (Formerly Titled: CJ 205 – Investigative Technology)
Student Outcomes Students will process and record evidence for the clarity of the receiver and in accordance with established industry standards.
Students will analyze historical cases to identify patterns of evidence manipulation and its impact on diverse groups of people.
Students will analyze contemporary issues (e.g. biometrics) in forensic science through an intersectional and multicultural lens.
