BTECA 103 Keyboard Development & Basic Bus Doc Formatting II (1 credit)
Course Description This course assists students with continuous development of keyboard speed, accuracy and technique while simultaneously applying keyboard skills to create basic business documents.
Course Content A. Improvement of Speed and Accuracy
B. Optimal Ergonomic Body Position
C. Type by Touch with Correct Fingering
D. Prepare and Edit Basic Business Documents
E. Document producing and scanning
Student Outcomes 1. Demonstrate typing at a minimum rate of 21 wpm with no more than 5 errors, and a minimum typing speed increase of 1 wpm from previous personal benchmark.
2. Produce basic business documents to include keying, formatting, proofreading, and editing while using word processing tools.
Degree Outcomes Program Outcome: Demonstrate proficiency in efficiently performing a variety of administrative tasks. (Including answering phones, managing schedules, handling correspondence using common office software such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email/calendar management programs.)
