DDSGN 150 Introduction to UX/UI Design (5 credits)



Course Description
This course covers the foundation of user experience (UX) design concepts and methodologies from user research methods, design thinking, low-fidelity wireframing, creating design systems, and high-fidelity prototyping, to the latest technologies on the future of modern user interface (UI) design. Students will learn the critical stages of the UX design methods, technical feasibility, human-centered design, and semantics of the HTML and CSS.

  1. Define web design terminology and usability in context.

  4. Integrate best practices of web color and font management, principles of design, web usability, and front-end web development in designing web pages. 
  5. Identify solutions to convoluted design problems. 
  6. Create working web pages for various devices using mobile-first design principles.
  7. Apply prototype techniques using a set of heuristic guidelines to evaluate a product.
  8. Apply UX design principles in order to build both low-fidelity and high-fidelity interactive systems.
