Course Description
Introduction to photographic concepts, composition, and visual storytelling using cell phones or DSLRs. Explores techniques for capturing, correcting, manipulating, and outputting digitized images, with an emphasis on exposure, lighting, and creative expression in art and media.

  1. Identify various digital photography equipment and camera functions.
  2. Analyze aesthetic elements of visual images.
  3. Capture still images using a digital camera using basic composition rules.
  4. Implement digital manipulation theories and techniques within photoediting and photoprocessing programs
  5. Create images to appeal to multicultural/global audiences.
  6. Evaluate the aesthetic and technical quality of various images and their appeal to the intended audience.
  7. Manage files and establish file format appropriate to deliverable / output
  8. Operate within ethics and copyright laws related to the use of digital images
