VT 240 Animal Diseases (3 credits)
Prerequisite Enrollment in the Veterinary Technology Program
Course Description Lecture course which covers the fundamentals of animal disease including etiology, nursing care, and laboratory procedures which apply to the particular disease syndrome.
Course Content A. Common diseases affecting domestic dogs and cats.
B. Diagnostic tests used to identify diseases.
C. Treatment options for common diseases of dogs and cats.
D. Preventative measures to reduce the incidence of common diseases of dogs and cats.
Student Outcomes
- Describe etiology, diagnostic tests, treatment options and preventative measures for common diseases affecting domestic dogs and cats
