DHYG 327 Restorative Dentistry II (1.5 credits)
Course Description The third in the series furthering skills in restorative dentistry. Focused on advanced placement and finishing of complex dental amalgam and composite restorations on both the adult and primary dentitions.

Placement and finishing of Class I, II, III and V composite restorations on the permanent and primary dentitions

Principles and techniques for amalgam polishing

Student Outcomes
- Apply principles of safety, ergonomics, and infection control while performing dental restorative techniques as an operator.
- Demonstrate a functional provisional restoration on a typodont.
- Select advanced and alternative isolation techniques (including retraction cord) for placement and finishing of amalgam and composite restorations on the permanent and primary typodont dentitions.
- Demonstrate placement and finishing of advanced amalgam and composite restorations on the permanent and primary typodont dentitions.
- Appraise occlusion in restorative dentistry on a typodont.
- Demonstrate the procedure for final impressions on a typodont.
