MUSC 164 Private Instruction: Percussion (1 credit)
Distribution Area Fulfilled Humanities with Performance; General Transfer Elective Course Description An individual instruction course advancing student music performance in percussion. No audition required. Course is repeatable for additional credit up to 3 times in the degree.
Course Content a.) musical literacy (e.g.pitch, rhythm, tempo, articulation, dynamics, phrasing)
b.) conventions of percussion playing technique (e.g. balance, intonation precision, pitch, tone production, rhythm, tempo, articulation, dynamics, phrasing)
c.) musicality (e.g. timbre, stylistic expression)
Student Outcomes 1. Demonstrate, through performance, improvement in literacy, technique, and musicality
