MUSC 144 Concert Choir (2 credits)

Course Description Non-auditioned choir for both beginning and experienced singers. Rehearses and performs choral literature. Quarterly concerts required. Non-music major participation encouraged. Course is repeatable for additional credit up to 3 times in the degree.
Course Content a.) unifying vocal tone, diction, pitch, rhythm, tempo, articulation, and intonation precision
b.) choral ensemble technique
c.) unifying dynamic, phrase, balance
d.) unifying timbre, stylistic expression
e.) listening and responsiveness to others within the ensemble including the conductor
f.) innovative and culturally responsive repertoire
Student Outcomes Demonstrate through performance improvement in vocal technique, music literacy and musicality.
