IE 013 Intensive English Listening & Speaking 1 (6 credits)



Course Description
Listening & Speaking 1 is an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course for students who need to develop low-intermediate English language skills. Students will study low-intermediate listening and speaking concepts. Students must reach 80% competency overall in order to pass to the next level.

Student Outcomes
 

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to perform the following outcomes at a low-intermediate language level: 

  1. Exchange greetings, introductions, questions, responses and closings in conversation. 

  2. Express needs, wants, likes, dislikes and feelings.

  3. Retell details of interactions and course materials.

  4. Present short speeches on familiar topics. 

  5. Identify the topic and some major details of listening materials.
