IE 023 Intensive English Listening & Speaking 2 (6 credits)



Course Description
Listening & Speaking 2 is an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course for students who need to develop intermediate English language skills. Students will study intermediate listening and speaking concepts. Students must reach 80% competency overall in order to pass to the next level.

Expressions of opinion, agreement, disagreement and interruption Follow-up and clarification questions Presentation skills  Listening comprehension skills Grammar and usage Vocabulary

Student Outcomes
 

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to perform the following outcomes at an intermediate language level:

  1. Exchange information in a variety of situations.

  2. Respond to topics discussed in class.

  3. Identify the topic and major details of listening material. 

  4. Summarize course materials in order to demonstrate understanding.

  5. Give presentations and speeches on familiar topics.
