IE 042 Intensive English Grammar 4 (4 credits)
Course Description Grammar 4 is an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course for students who need to develop low-advanced English language skills. Students will study low-advanced grammar concepts. Students must reach 80% competency overall in order to pass to the next level.
Course Content Participial phrases Restrictive, nonrestrictive and reduced adjective clauses Noun clauses Real and unreal conditionals Adverbials of condition, cause, degree, focus and stance
Student Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to perform the following outcomes at a low-advanced language level:
- Communicate using highly complex grammatical structures.

Examine syntax to recognize and use highly complex expressions.

Apply grammar and mechanics to create sentences with greater grammatical complexity.
- Use clauses and phrases in complex expressions to create information-rich sentences.
