Course Description An introduction to running one’s own business. Students will explore the techniques and responsibilities for successfully managing an independent career.

Student Outcomes 1. Evaluate and select an appropriate legal structure for a new business, and explain foundational financial practices including bookkeeping, expenses, taxes, and purchasing.
2. Analyze business contracts to identify key terms and propose revisions that protect the entrepreneur’s rights and responsibilities.
3. Develop a personal entrepreneurial readiness plan by assessing strengths, weaknesses, and time management strategies to increase business success.
4. Create a comprehensive startup business plan that integrates external research, marketing strategies, and operational planning.
