MNGT 470 Business Development and Negotiations (5 credits)



Prerequisite At least a junior standing in a baccalaureate program.

Course Description
This course prepares students to adopt an innovative mindset; to recognize, refine, and define value; to find the right partners; and to sell their ideas. Students will develop ethical negotiation and influence-based skills to help progress their ideas and careers.

1. Develop persuasive business proposals and value-driven strategies using ethical communication and digital marketing tools to engage diverse stakeholders.

2. Apply negotiation techniques and influence strategies to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes while maintaining long-term professional relationships.

3. Evaluate market opportunities through customer analysis, opportunity recognition, and strategic value creation.

4. Demonstrate inclusive problem-solving and adaptive communication during negotiations that involve concessions, conflict resolution, and cultural complexity.
