Explore your creativity in the exciting, high-tech world of graphic design and dynamic media production. From eye-catching magazine layouts to innovative print advertisements, from understated corporate imagery to attention-grabbing websites complete with animation and sound. If you have ever wondered how those images were created and have ever thought about designing them as a career, then the Digital Design program might be the right choice for you.
The Digital Design program at Pierce College is a two-year, broad-based program requiring courses in two main areas:
Traditional Graphic Design
This explores computer and traditional illustration, digital photography and image manipulation, print-based page layout, and web design.
Rich Media Production
This part of the degree incorporates 3D modeling, 2D and 3D animation, video production, DVD authoring, and rich media authoring.
Graduates can expect to be readily capable of competing for jobs in the graphic arts industry, or they can choose to pursue an advanced degree at a four-year institution See the for more information.
The Digital Design program is enhanced by a state-of-the-art lab offering full graphic design and multimedia capabilities for hands-on experience. You will study with instructors who have both academic expertise and practical experience in their field, bringing a genuine working knowledge to their teaching.
