1. College Success
- COLLG 110 College Success (3 credits)
Course purpose: A foundational course to explore and affirm a career choice and build upon the skills, knowledge, and resources that will support you at Pierce College and beyond. Note: The College Success course you select will depend on the Career Pathway Map you are following. Your advisor will assist you in selecting either the 3- or 5- credit version of the course. Should you choose to repeat a College Success course you must enroll in a College Success course with the same credit amount as the original course; a COLLG 110 course grade can only be replaced with a grade from another COLLG 110 course and a COLLG 115 course grade can only be replaced with a grade from another COLLG 115 course.

3. English Composition I
- ENGL& 101 English Composition I (5 credits)
Course purpose: As an occupational safety and health professional, you will often find yourself writing reports, proposals, letters, emails, and presentations. ENGL& 101 will provide the foundational skills of developing these writing skills and transfers to 4-years institutions. Note: Your advisor will assist you in reviewing your Guided Self Placement and selecting either the 5-credit or the 7-credit co-requisite ENGL& 101 + ENGLC 101 course.

6. Introduction to Statistics
- MATH& 146 Introduction to Stats (5 credits)
Course purpose: OSH professionals need a strong foundation in mathematics so they can interpret quantitative data reported in reports and research papers, and to appropriately convey quantitative data in meetings and documents. Note: The math course you select will depend on the Career Pathway Map you are following, the transfer institution/degree that you select, and your math placement guidance. Your advisor will assist you in selecting the relevant 5 or 7 credit course(s) based upon co-requisite options.

- OSH 240 Handling Hazardous Materials (4 credits)
Course purpose: OSH professionals must have a basic understanding of the characteristics of hazardous materials, the impacts of the related hazards, how to prevent or minimize exposure, and what protective measures to take to prevent exposures when handling or exposed to hazardous materials.

- BUS 260 Project Management I: Planning (5 credits)
Course purpose: Basic knowledge of project management skills and terminology are necessary for an OSH professional, particularly in the implementation of new programs, development of products, or for construction related projects.

- OSH 220 Industrial Hygiene (5 credits)
Course purpose: OSH professionals need a strong background in industrial hygiene skills including sampling and monitor techniques, data collection, data interpretation and the limitations and challenges of sampling data.

Course purpose: Basic knowledge of project management skills and terminology are necessary for an OSH professional, particularly in the implementation of new programs, development of products, or for construction related projects. - OSH 155 Special Topics in OSH - I (3 credits)
Course purpose: This course will help you stay up to date on current events and changes in the field. - OSH 255 Special Topics in OSH II (4 credits)
Course purpose: This course will help you stay up to date on current events and changes in the field. OSH 255 is a variable 1 – 3 credit version of the special topics course. - CONST 140 Construction Drawings: Printreading (5 credits)
Course purpose: Construction management processes are introduced, including industry terminology, business practices, estimating/bidding, scheduling, project management, field operations and career pathways. - CONST 160 Materials and Methods (5 credits)
Course purpose: The technical aspects of construction systems, including the procedures and methods for masonry, steel, wood, and concrete construction are covered in this course. Recent trends in construction materials are also covered. - HSEM 102 Introduction to Homeland Security Emergency Management (5 credits)
Course purpose: Health and safety employees are often assigned to address emergency planning and issues. This course provides the groundwork on disaster and emergency management. - HSEM 120 All Hazards Emergency Planning (3 credits)
Course purpose: This course will help you build your skills in emergency planning.
