2. English Composition I

• Course purpose: Clear and strategic communication with others is a central feature of all careers connected to Business. The skills learned in ENGL 101 are foundational for later coursework and beyond. (Required courses for admission into the BAS in Applied Business Management.)

• Course purpose: Professional Development sets the stage for workplace success by providing career success strategies and tools. Move from “I can’t…” or “I think I can…” to “I can!” Dig deep in to who you are in terms of strengths and personal qualities/characteristics.

• Course purpose: Business Mathematics offers applications in banking, merchandising, inventory, depreciation and promissory notes. You will also be introduced to simple statistics and the metric system.

• Course purpose: Today’s business world relies on data to make sound business decisions. Introduction to Statistics will orient you to the art and science of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
