FCA 285 Fire and Life Safety Educator (3 credits) This course prepares students in comprehensive community fire and injury prevention programs designed to eliminate or mitigate situations that endanger lives, health, property or the environment. Course elements include documenting, scheduling, selecting, presenting, developing, implementing and evaluating within a framework of instructional methodology and concepts. This course is an introduction to a public fire and life safety educator’s duties as written by the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1035, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Public Fire and Life Safety Educator (2005).
