It provides you a clear path to complete your degree by listing a specific set of courses relevant to your program and career. The map is designed with the appropriate number of credits and meets degree requirements. Courses are organized in a recommended sequence; please schedule accordingly. If a course is unavailable, select the next appropriate course within the sequence. For each course, a purpose statement explains how the content relates to your career field. On this map, there may be instances when you will be required to select a course from several options. Use these purpose statements and notes to choose the course that best aligns with your interests and needs. You will also find action items to complete to assure you progress and graduate on time. - BUS& 101 Introduction to Business (5 credits)
Course purpose: Business is large, complex, and fascinating subject matter. To help prepare you for specific business courses, this course offers an overview of the globalized nature of today’s business and its major functions – operations, marketing, and finance.
5. Business Math

- BTECA 117 Business Mathematics (5 credits)
Course purpose: Business Mathematics offers applications in banking, merchandising, inventory, depreciation and promissory notes. You will also be introduced to simple statistics and the metric system. - MATH& 146 Introduction to Statistics (5 credits)
Course purpose: Undergraduate business students benefit from taking a statistics class because it equips them with essential skills for data analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving in real-world business environments. Statistics helps them interpret data trends, make informed decisions based on quantitative evidence, and effectively manage risks

- CIS 130 Productivity Software (5 credits)
Course purpose: Required technological skill sets in the world of work include word-processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and cloud storage at a minimum. And technology is continually changing. We need to know how to work in and problem-solve with technology.

- ECON& 201 Microeconomics (5 credits)
Course purpose: Fundamentally, microeconomics is the study of how individuals, organizations, and markets make choices. By learning microeconomics, you become a more knowledgeable and valuable business professional to organizations. If you decide to run your own business, you are better positioned to make informed business decisions. - ECON& 202 Macroeconomics (5 credits)

Course purpose: Business Law introduces you to the laws relating to the operation of businesses from the perspectives of owners, managers, employees, customers and suppliers.

- BUS 260 Project Management I: Planning (5 credits)
Course purpose: Good project management skills saves a company time, money, and resources. In this course you will learn about the Initiate and Plan Process Groups tools and techniques to build a project plan. BUS 260 is part one of a two-part series. BUS 261 is the second course in this series.

Course purpose: Social media is how businesses are connecting with consumers. As a business professional you need basic understanding of how social media can impact brand recognition, increase traffic to company websites, and reach specific audiences.
Option D: Retail Management/Fashion Merchandising
- FASH 160 Introduction to Fashion Merchandising (5 credits)
Course purpose: This course is a survey of the fashion industry from early development to present. You will analyze the interrelationships of the many different industries involved in the design, production, and distribution of all types of apparel and accessories.

Option A: Human Resource Management
- MNGT 296 Current Trends in Human Resources (5 credits)
Course purpose: Explores current human resource issues including local, state, and federal labor laws; effective recruitment and selection techniques using behaviorally-anchored structured interview format; training and development strategies using competency-based individual development plans; 360-degree performance review; and how to write employee policy manuals and job descriptions.
Option B: Project Management
- BUS 261 Project Management II: Managing (5 credits)
Course purpose: Good project management skills saves a company time, money, and resources. In BUS 261 you will learn about the Execute, Monitor/Control, and Close Process Groups tools and techniques to build a project plan. BUS 261 is part two of a two-part series. BUS 260 is the first course in this series.

- BUS 135 Introduction to Online Marketing (5 credits)
Course purpose: This course examines how organizations use online marketing strategies including websites, media sharing, social media networking, search engine optimization, and online advertising to market goods and services.
