Required Prerequisities

ENGL 099 with a grade of 2.0 or better or placement into college-level English.
MATH 054 with a grade of 2.0 or better or placement into MATH 096.

CONST 101 Introduction to Construction Management (5 credits)
Course purpose: Introduction to the construction management field including estimating, bidding, scheduling, project management, and field operations.
CONST 140 Construction Drawings: Print Reading (5 credits)
Course purpose: Construction Management processes are introduced, including industry terminology, business practices, estimating/bidding, scheduling, project management, field operations and career pathways.
CONST 150 Construction Documents (5 credits)
Course purpose: You will learn about construction documents and their use as a tool to manage the construction process.
CONST 160 Materials and Methods (5 credits)
Course purpose: You will learn the technical aspects of construction systems, including the procedures and methods for masonry, steel, wood, and concrete construction. Recent trends in construction materials are also covered.
BTECA 110 Microsoft Word: Prepare and Edit Documents (1 credit)
BTECA 111 Microsoft Word: Enhance and Customize Documents (1 credit)
Course purpose: You will need to be proficient in using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and these are tools used daily in the construction management field.

1. Introduction to Virtual Construction

CONST 270 Introduction to Virtual Design and Construction (3 credits)
Course purpose: Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)\Building Information Modeling (BIM) are introduced. You will gain an understanding of how these construction management processes improve the coordination and control of a construction project.

2. Basic Modeling

CONST 271 Basic Modeling (5 credits)
Course purpose: You will be introduced to various Building information Modeling tools, platforms and basic model modification and creation.

3. Intermediate Modeling

CONST 272 Intermediate Modeling (5 credits)
Course purpose: You will learn intermediate to advanced model creation from the perspective of a general or specialty contractor.

4. Model Base Collaboration

CONST 274 Model Based Collaboration (5 credits)
Course purpose: You will use the building model and other building information modeling (BIM) tools and platforms for project collaboration and management of project information.

5. Model Integration: Estimation and Scheduling

CONST 275 Model Integration: Estimation and Scheduling (5 credits)
Course purpose: You will learn to use BIM tools and platforms to manage, schedule and control construction projects.
