Course Description
This course provides an overview of theatre including dramatic literature, theatre history, scene design, stage lighting, styles of acting & directing, and plays discussions.

Student Outcomes
1. Critically analyze drama scripts to articulate their aesthetic qualities and cultural value.

2. Critically analyze the elements of theatre productions to articulate their aesthetic qualities and value in different cultural contexts.

3. Critically analyze a live theatre production and explain how live performance is different from a script or video.

4. Describe major historical and contemporary trends in the development of theatre globally to explain differences in aesthetic values and technologies.

5. Compare the differences and similarities between global historical theatre and contemporary theatre practices to understand the development.
