Course Description An individual instruction course geared towards advancing all levels of student music performance in woodwinds. Course is repeatable for additional credit up to 3 times in the degree.
Course Content Course content is based on the ability level and the individual goals established by the instructor and student.
Student Outcomes 1. Demonstrate through performance measurable improvement in some, if not all, of the following areas:
a.) pitch, rhythm, tempo, articulation, and intonation precision;
b.) dynamic, phrase, and stylistic expression;
c.) timbre;
d.) balance;
e.) comping and solo improvisation techniques.
2. Demonstrate a professional attitude towards self-motivation, and self-evaluation as it pertains to the pursuit of selected goals.
Degree Outcomes Humanities: Graduates acquire critical skills to interpret, analyze, and evaluate forms of human expression, which can include creation and performance as an expression of human experience.
Effective Communication: Graduates will be able to exchange messages in a variety of contexts using multiple methods.
