EM 449 Professional Development Seminar 2 (2 credits)
Prerequisite Current enrollment in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Emergency Management program.
Course Description This course prepares the student for the Emergency Management Work-based Learning experience by guiding them through creating or updating their professional portfolio and starting the process of documentation for professional credentialing.

- Develop a Professional Portfolio exhibiting professional development efforts, progress, and achievements.
- Develop model resumes, applications, cover letters, and references for various government and private sector positions.
- Develop an action plan for personal and professional growth.
- Research emergency management career-oriented credentials and the process to obtain them.
- Prepare for the culminating work-based learning experience or post-graduation employment.
