BTECA 114 Introduction to Windows and Microsoft Word (5 credits)



Course Description
This course offers an introductory experience to the Windows Operating System and File Explorer to manage files. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have mastered the features of Word to align with the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) objectives.

Course Content
A. File management
B. Window applications
C. Formatting and editing documents
D. Enhancing and customizing documents

Student Outcomes
1. Create, name and organize files and folders in File Explorer. 

2. Create documents in MS Word. 

3. Modify the appearance of documents in MS Word. 

4. Create and edit shapes and images. 

6. Manage MS Word documents in relation to other programs. 

7. Apply advanced MS Word features to increase clarity and navigation within academic and workplace documents.

  1. Communicate effectively using written, oral, and visual communication skills.
  2. Apply technical skills to meet industry standards in the office.
  3. Employ software and/or technology to manage information.
